James and his family run the business, and you can immediately tell there is real pride and generations of knowledge behind it. James is fourth generation in the trade, and the whole place felt less like a modern “box shifting” retailer and more like stepping back into a time when proper outfitters genuinely understood what they were selling and how it should fit and perform for the work being done.
Nowadays you can walk into many tool shops and they might have a small workwear section, but if you ask detailed questions about fit, suitability, durability, or what is actually right for your job, you often just get vague answers from somebody reading labels off a shelf.
This was completely different.
James understood immediately what I needed and treated PPE as a tool rather than just clothing. He properly fitted me with the right clothes trousers, shirts,
footwear, insoles, accessories, and PPE for the type of work I actually do, and the difference was noticeable immediately. You simply do not get that level of knowledge buying online.
The whole experience was professional but welcoming — proper fitting area, clean changing space, friendly atmosphere, great hospitality, and genuine customer service from a proper family-run business that clearly cares about looking after people properly.
They were flexible about ordering items in, trying things for fit, and sale-or-return if something was not right. No pressure, no nonsense, just proper service.
I was so impressed I even left money on account because I know I will be back.
